BARF Diet - Bones and Raw Food
A barf diet should comprise of...

60% MEATY BONES
60%-70% of which are RAW chicken bones, the remainder (30%-40%) being bones from RAW lamb, rabbit, beef, pork, venison etc.

40% OTHER FOOD STUFFS
Green leafy vegetables should make up about 60%-70% of the vegetable part of the diet, with grain and starchy vegetables being between 20%-30%. The offal portion of the diet, that is liver, kidneys and hearts etc., should be about 5%-15% of the diet. Throw in some eggs two to three times a week, more often if you wish.

An example of a meal we would feed our dogs in the morning.   (You would need to adjust this to your own breed)

¼ - ½ pound meat mixture     (you can also use rabbit, turkey, oxtail, lamb - alternate which meat you use. You can get these from your local butcher, pet store or supermarket)

4oz Fish
(we use tinned or fresh mackerel or sardines
If you have any oil left from fish use 1
tbsp and mix in food)

1 Egg
(raw with its shell)

3-4 pieces of fruit or vegetable
(spinach, carrots, apple, berries)

1 tbsp Yogurt
(natural)

1 tbsp honey

500mg Vitamin C powder
(ask your vet)

2 times a week we give large beef bones, ribs, turkey legs as their treat.

We also give whole raw carrots and apples as treats.

As an additon we cook brown/white rice, we add cottage cheese
                    NEVER FEED YOUR DOGS
COOKED BONES or CORN COBS (corn on the cob)
You can also purchase from companies like - Landywoods and Nature Diet, ready prepared BARF diet meals - You may find these a bit more expensive, if you do not have the time on your hands to prepare your dogs, they are great.
